Position Summary 

Charlotte City Club has an opening for a creative and experienced Sous Chef to join the Culinary leadership team. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of guiding, developing, and training Team Members to prepare them for advancement and providing the highest quality service and food for our Members. 

About Charlotte City Club 

Charlotte City Club is an exclusive city club in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2022. The Club was originally founded in 1947 as a private members’ club for people to meet and discuss business and has since assembled a membership that attracts some of Charlotte's most interesting and successful men and women – a welcoming and diverse community of business-minded members who place a premium on camaraderie and fellowship. 

Reporting Relationships 

This position reports directly to the Executive Sous Chef and has supervisory responsibility of Chef de Parties and Interns. 

Primary Responsibilities 

The Sous Chef has supervisory responsibility of day-to-day culinary operations performed by the Chef de Parties and Interns and is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in managing all food facilities and achievement of culinary budgetary financial goals. Schedule will vary according to operating needs and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education and Experience 

  • Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent experience 

  • 3 years experience in culinary role with demonstrated increase in responsibility 

  • Previous experience as lead or supervisor strongly preferred
